Helen Kraus Community Room: Suburban Art League Annual Show
The suburban Art League was established in 1963 to increase cooperation among artists, art students, craftsmen, publishers, and all engaged in artistic pursuits; and to provide a registry for artists. The League hosts competitions and exhibits, and promotes the study of art through monthly art demonstrations for both members and non-members at the Syosset Woodbury Community Center in Woodbury, NY, on the first Tuesday of every month except July and August.
Lower Concourse Gallery: Paintings by Diane Meeker
Ms. Meeker loved painting and drawing when she was a child, and her efforts won her accolades and awards in high school. She married young, however, and put her artistic endeavours aside while raising her family. Taking inspiration from Grandma Moses, who started painting later in her life, Ms. Meeker returned to pursue her talents as a mature artist.
As a mother of two grown children and four wonderful grandchildren, she enjoys painting in both acrylics and watercolors. The artist can be reached at 516.708.5101.
