The Friends of the Library is pleased to be sponsoring the very popular Museum Pass Program by offering free passes to The Long Island Children's Museum, Cradle of Aviation Museum, Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum, Museum of Modern Art, New York Botanical Garden, Nassau County Museum of Art, and Old Westbury Gardens. Each pass will admit individuals and guests or families, making it easier than ever to reap the benefits of living in such close proximity to world class museums.
Rockville Centre Public Library cardholders may reserve museum passes in advance online or by calling the Adult Reference Desk at 766-6257, x5.
Each Museum Pass Packet, including passes and all the information you need for your visit, may be borrowed for two days from the Adult Reference Desk. Keep in mind there is a $10 late fee per day, in order to ensure that the Museum Pass Packet is available for the next patron. Museum pass kits may be placed in the bookdrop or returned, in person, to the Adult Reference Desk.
The Library encourages patrons to check museum/garden websites before their visit as days closed and operating hours are not reflected on the reservation page. Special events may have added fees which are not covered by membership and are therefore the responsibility of the patron.
Patrons can access museum websites from our Tixkeeper homepage by clicking on the particular museum. The Pass Details icon will give information on the number of adults and children that will be allowed admittance with that particular museum pass.
Lower Concourse Gallery: Stop and Smell the Flowers: Kim Loizou-Gallagher
Artist’s Mission Statement: “On each blank canvas, I create an everlasting moment of beauty that has passed in my mind.”
Kim Loizou-Gallagher first picked up a pencil at a very young age. She’s a self-taught artist through experience, visiting galleries and museums and reading books. Her influences stem from a love of the natural world and she's inspired by Georgia O'Keefe, Simon Bull, and Russell D'Alessio. Kim's exhibit, Stop and Smell the Flowers, was created in part to bring awareness to people of the beauty that is in front of them. She feels our natural world is continuously overlooked and taken advantage of. Kim's paintings capture the essence of the natural world. This is Kim's first exhibit.
Kim has been a NYC Special Education teacher since 1997. She lives in Oceanside with her husband and two children, Noah and Claudia.
