BRAVO AND ENCORE!
This winter’s offerings are especially interesting and the talent of our performers is outstanding! Better still, Sunday Afternoon Performances are provided at no charge!

In January we are pleased to present Folias & Diferencias: Music and Dance from Spain’s Golden Age performed by The Musicians at the Spanish Gate and The New York Historical Dance Company. Music from the Renaissance and early Baroque periods, when Spain was a dominant European power will be performed on period instruments --- harp, violin, lute and guitar----accompanied by costumed period dancers. This promises to be a uniquely entertaining afternoon of music and dance to soothe the winter weary soul!

February’s featured artist will be the talented folk singer Caroline Doctorow. She will present The Great American Folk Song Revival. Her performance will focus on folk music of the early 60s including the works of Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Donovan, Mimi and Richard Farina and John Hartford. This talented musician will share a few songs of her own as well, while demonstrating various folk styles on guitar, fiddle, and acoustic bass. It is music that audience members of all ages will enjoy!

In March Stephen Axelrod returns to the Library with his follow-up to last year’s Blue Collar Bay entitled Surf City. Stephen is a talented actor having appeared often on Law and Order. His one man dramas are autobiographical; telling of his growing up tough in Queens, to life in the Marine Corps, to an insider’s place on the stock exchange, to the set of Law and Order. Stephen’s performance last year received rave reviews from attendees, and we look forward to another gritty and emotional performance!
